It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Patrick Arthur Franks, who died in the early morning of Saturday 28 December 2025. He was aged 94. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.
Born on 26 March 1931, Pat enlisted on 14 October 1947 and was discharged on 26 March 1953. He served with the 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards, attaining the rank of Lance Sergeant.
A former member and Vice President of the Medway Branch, Pat transferred to the Kent Branch (then the East Kent Branch) in May 2023 following the closure of Medway. He was appointed a Vice President of the Kent Branch on 14 September 2024.
He remained, throughout his long life, a proud Grenadier.
We are awaiting information regarding the funeral arrangements.

Oh God, grant that thy servants, The Grenadier Guards, may ever be mindful of their proud and costly heritage, that continuing to guard what is right, and fighting for what is just, they may serve Thee in this life, that they may be counted worthy to continue their service in the life to come.
