Service dates: 1976-1987

Brian joined the Grenadier Guards on 30 June 1976, joining the Guards Depot, Pirbright and went into the Brussels intake.

On leaving the Depot, he was posted to 1^st Battalion in Elizabeth Barracks, Pirbright in 1977 until the 2^nd Battalion returned from their tour of NI.

Whilst with the 1^st Battalion, he went training in the Sudan and joined the 2^nd Battalion around March 1978.

Joined the Inkerman Company, went on exercise to Kenya, returning back to Chelsea Barracks to prepare for deployment to Münster, West Germany – 1979/80.

On return in 1981, returned to Chelsea Barracks and had a UN tour in Cyprus 1982/83.

On return from Cyprus, Brian was posted to the Guards Depot MT Platoon.

Returned to the 2^nd Battalion in 1985 for the start of NI training.

Deployed 1985/86.

Left the Army in May 1987.
