SUMMARY:May 2027 Branch Meeting
DESCRIPTION:This is the scheduled date of our bi-monthly Branch meeting.  It is held one week earlier than our usual 3rd Sunday of the month pattern.  This ensures we deconflict with Black Sunday; which is forecast to be on Sunday 16 May 2027. \nPlease note the 1130 hrs start time. \nIn addition to physical attendance\, the Hon. Secretary will organise a Microsoft Teams meeting for members\, plus any Branch widows and Friends of the Branch who would like to attend it. Please contact the Hon. Secretary (info@kentgrenadiers.co.uk) if you are in one of those categories and wish to receive a Microsoft Teams invite. \nMembers are requested to notify the Hon. Secretary if they cannot attend physically or via Microsoft Teams. \nAn after-meeting Sunday luncheon and raffle is to be organised and held at a nearby venue. More details on lunch will be sent to our members and regular attendees. DESCRIPTION:THIS IS NOT AN EVENT ORGANISED BY KENT GRENADIERS \nIT IS SHOWN HERE BECAUSE IT IS LIKELY OF INTEREST TO OUR MEMBERS\, OR OTHERS WHO VISIT OUR WEBSITE \nBlack Sunday is the annual Regimental Remembrance Day for the Grenadier Guards\, bringing together serving personnel\, veterans\, and families at Wellington Barracks in London to honour their fallen. The 2027 event is scheduled to take place on Sunday 16 May 2027\, and follows the historical pattern of holding the parade on the third Sunday of May. \nAttendees should enter Wellington Barracks via Birdcage Walk and carry photographic ID. \nThe day will begin with a service in the Guards Chapel\, followed by a parade at the Guards Memorial. The Regimental Lieutenant Colonel warmly invites all Grenadiers\, past and present\, along with their families\, to join us in honouring and remembering our fallen comrades. \nFurther details will be shared in due course.

DESCRIPTION:THIS IS NOT AN EVENT ORGANISED BY KENT GRENADIERS \nIT IS SHOWN HERE BECAUSE IT IS LIKELY OF INTEREST TO OUR MEMBERS\, OR OTHERS WHO VISIT OUR WEBSITE \nTrooping the Colour is an annual event that has marked the sovereign’s official birthday for two-and-a-half centuries. \nThe British Army has not yet officially announced which Foot Guards regiment will troop the colour at The King’s Birthday Parade in 2027\, so there is no confirmed answer as yet. However\, we calculate that the date for the Major General’s Review (the first rehearsal) will be Saturday 29 May 2027. \nTickets usually go on sale in January/February each year\, so visit Official King’s Birthday Parade 2027 | Trooping the Colour – Home (mod.uk) regularly in the New Year (2027) for an opportunity to purchase tickets for this parade.
